We welcome groups of up to 40 from schools, colleges, youth and other organisations to use our eco-campsite overnight or for longer stays. We also welcome families and larger groups, with a minimum of 10 people.

Our remote campsite is found at the top of a little hill with views over the surrounding countryside. The site is well away from roads and the farmyard, leaving you free to relax and enjoy nature in peace. The campsite facilities include a small open barn and courtyard providing storage, shelter, cooking space and a place to eat at tables constructed using larch from our woods. Solar PV and a mini wind turbine power some basic lighting for the evenings. Our rustic showers and sinks have solar heated water, pumped from our spring. The water ranges in temperature from hot to cold depending on the weather and how many people are using it! We have composting toilets and there is a washing machine you can use by arrangement in the farmyard.

We think fires are a fundamental part of camping, and we have a central fire pit, with plenty of free logs from the woods on our farm. You can use the fire pit as a BBQ too, or bring your own, as long as they are kept off the grass.

We offer a range of activities to fit in to your group’s programme including farm tours and trails, feeding and caring for the animals, gardening and cooking, workshops to explore the landscape and wildlife, crafts, bush-craft skills and an aerial woodland walkway and zip line. For rainy days there is the shelter of the open barn, and we also have indoor workshop space.

Eating good food is an essential part of every holiday, and luckily our farm is well placed to supply you. Vegetables and salad are at their best when freshly picked, and in our three-acre vegetable garden we grow over 100 varieties so there’s bound to be something you fancy! When you book you can order a box of veg to be waiting for you on arrival (minimum order £5). We can also add home reared lamb, pork and beef along with eggs and preserves.  You are welcome to help yourself to the abundant berries and fruits growing wild all over the farm.

The campsite is inaccessible by vehicles apart from 4x4s. We can bring your gear up and back by arrangement. There is a 10-minute walk from the campsite down to the farmyard, where you can leave your cars.

Camping is run by The Trill Trust.
