WORKING WITH WOOL: SPINNING

Come spend 3 days learning the craft of spinning wool using Trill Farm's beautiful Gotland wool.

There will be an opportunity to use spinning wheels, spindles,

wool combs, and hand and drum carders. By the end of 3 days you will be familiar with the equipment and will have spun several small skeins of yarn for use in knitting , weaving or as accent yarn in felted items. We will explore the difference between woollen and worsted preparation and why we would choose one technique over the other. There will be a handout with basic information to enable you to carry one with this craft at home.

Please being your own spinning wheel (the tutor has some available for use but please contact us well before the course begins to book one), carders and/or a dog comb if you have them, an apron, a notebook and pen.
