with Sue Cole

Wednesday 6th July *fully booked*

10.30am - 3.30pm

Make a mat or seat pad using a traditional wooden peg loom. You will use an array of scrap materials, and some unspun fleece from Trill's flock. The natural variation in the colours of our fleece from white to grey to black helps to create your own unique pattern.

We will provide a range of rags/materials to use, but please bring along your own scraps of recycled fabrics or fleece to add into the mix.

You will learn all about weaving, what materials can be used and the effects they create, how to thread the peg loom with warp thread, how to weave and how to create different patterns and blocks of colour.

You will have the time to create at least one mat or seat pad during the day, and leave with the skills to carry on creating when you get home. There is also the option to buy a peg loom to take home with you, for £24.

Sue Cole began her 'Hollyhock Flock' 25 years ago with a couple of Shetland ewe lambs. She quickly moved onto breeding Gotland lambs - renowned for their lustrous grey curly fleeces (and the same breed we have here at Trill). She now makes a range of knitted, felted and loom woven wooly cushions for sale, and loves to share her skills with others.
