What is The Trill Trust?

The Trill Trust is the Education charity based at Trill Farm that aims to inspire healthy and responsible living. You can read more about what we do here. All courses based at the farm are run by the Trill Trust.

Where is Trill Farm?

We are in the rolling hills and fields of east Devon, close to the Dorset border and a few miles from the Jurrasic coast. We are a five-minute drive from Axminster train station, a mainline from London Waterloo to Exeter. Our address is Trill Farm, Puddleylake Road, Musbury, Axminster, Devon, EX13 8TU. How do I get to Trill Farm?

Trains arrive more or less on the hour from both the London and Exeter directions. A taxi to the farm takes around 5 minutes but must be booked in advance as there is no rank at the station. A map and taxi number can be found here.

How can I get in touch with Trill Farm?

We would love to hear from you! For general enquiries, give us a ring on 01297 631113, or email You could pop in too – we are usually in the office from 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, but do call first in case we are all out in the fields somewhere! For specific enquiries, see here.

Who founded Trill Farm and when?

Romy Fraser and her family bought the farm in 2008 with the aim of developing an education centre, and community of small businesses based on the farm, working together to MISSING TEXT!

What type of courses do you offer?

We currently offer residential and day courses, monthly Supper & Conversation evenings, open days and special events. We teach skills in cooking, nutrition and foraging, carpentry, willow work and beekeeping, herbal medicine, essential oils and healing, low carbon futures and writing skills. For more information see our courses page or calendar.

Do you offer concession prices for your events?

We offer a discounted rate for locals for many of our courses – those who live within a 25 miles radius of the farm. Please contact for details.

Is food included?

On each of our day courses unless specified, an organic lunch and refreshments are included. Residential courses are fully catered. All our food is seasonal and organic, and showcases the best of the season’s bounty from the farm. Please let us know when booking any dietary requirements.

Is accommodation included?

On residential courses accommodation is included. Rooms are in the Stables guesthouse and are shared (twins). Single rooms may be available for a supplement. Please contact the office for details.

What is the accommodation like?

The Stables guesthouse has been renovated to high environmental standards. Three rooms are en-suite, two share a bathroom. A room and bathroom with disabled access is available. There is a large kitchen, dining and lounge area with a wood burner. You can read more about the accommodation here.

What ages do you teach?

Courses are open to all ages over 16. We may be able to accommodate younger children on some courses – please do contact us for details. Some courses and events are especially family friendly and will be marked as such.

Will I feel too young/old?

No! A few courses are not currently suitable for younger children e.g. carpentry but we have all ages up to 90 attending!

Can my children attend?

Children may be able to accommpany you on some courses- please ask us for details. For residential courses it may be possible to book a room with your partner and children so they can explore the farm and surroundings while you learn some new skills!

Will I be ok to attend on my own?

Of course – most people do and it’s a great way to meet new people with similar interests.

Making a Booking

How do I book a class?

The easiest way to book onto any course or event is through the website. See here for our courses, or browse by date using our calendar. You can book and pay online. Alternatively you can ring the office and pay by phone. 01297 631113. We are happy to make payment as easy as possible for you. Please contact the office for details of paying in installments if you cannot pay in full at once.

Can I book a course or event for a friend?

Yes, but please let us know the name you have booked for. We also do gift vouchers if you are not sure which class your friend would like to attend. You can read more about those on the website here.

I haven’t received my ticket in the post, when will it arrive?

We do not issue tickets for courses or events. Your name, or the name of the person who made the booking will be on the door.

I haven’t received any information about the start time of a course or event I am booked on to.

We aim to email information about the courses or events a week or two prior to the date.

I booked a course but can’t make it now. Can I get a refund?

We require one month’s notice to cancel a course. If we have more than one month’s notice then we are happy to transfer your balance to another course within 12 months, or offer a refund.

If you cancel with less than a month to go, and we can refill your place, then we are happy to transfer your balance to another course within 12 months. You are welcome to pass the ticket onto the friend to attend in your place.

If you cancel with less than two week’s notice, we cannot offer a refund or balance transfer. You can pass the ticket onto a friend to come in your place.

But what if I am ill or stuck at work or something else last-minute comes up that is unavoidable?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds or transfers less than two weeks before a course. You are however welcome to pass the ticket on to a friend to come along in your place.

Do you offer events for team days out?

Yes, we can tailor a programme to your requirements as part of an away day or special event. This could include foraging, cooking or natural remedy making and would include a delicious meal. To find out more please contact

Purchases made online

Can I buy your products online?

Yes, see the shop page of our website for textiles, health & natural beauty and foods.

Where is my order?

All UK orders made online via the website will be sent via Royal Mail post. Please allow 2-3 working days for your order to arrive.

What is your returns policy?

If you would like to return an item ordered online, please do so within 28 days. Items must be in original condition and returned with the original sales receipt.

How much are your delivery costs?

Once you have added your chosen item(s) to your shopping basket, the total will be calculated for you.

Can I volunteer at the farm?

We, we take residential volunteers through WWOOF for one month at a time. Volunteers work in exchange for food and board. See here for more details. We can also take more local volunteers on a daily basis. Please contact the office for details.

Can I call in to visit?

We are not open to the public as such, but are always happy to see people if we are about! There is a footpath running through the farm that you are free to explore, and if we are in the office we are always happy to have a chat. We do have specific open days, event and courses, which are the best chance to get to know Trill. You can also book a bespoke farm tour. Contact for details.

Staying at Trill Farm

How much is B&B?

We offer B&B in and around our residential courses. Double or twin rooms are £110.

How many can you sleep?

We have three en suite rooms, and two rooms that share a bathroom, on of which is a small single. The guesthouse sleeps nine comfortably. Do contact us if you have a larger group as we have overflow rooms, and can add camp beds for children.

What facilities are there?

The guesthouse has wifi throughout, but no televisions. We encourage you to get out and explore the beautiful countryside!

How close are you to River Cottage HQ?

We are the closest accommodation to RCHQ – our farms are next door to each other! You can walk across our fields to their back gate in 15 minutes. You will need wellies and a good torch. We will provide directions and maps.

Do I need bring linen and/or towels?

No, organic linen and towels are provided.

Do you have disabled access?

Yes, we have two ground floor rooms that share a disabled friendly shower room. The farmyard and buildings are relatively flat, though unpaved. The farm is in a valley though so not all the farm is accessible. Unfortunately this includes our campsite.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Yes – there are plenty of great places within a 10-minute drive. We will send you details when you book. There is one pub serving food within walking distance, and River Cottage HQ is a 15-minute walk over our fields.

What about lunches and dinners - can we cook for ourselves?

There is a small kitchen in the guesthouse that you are welcome to use. Please have respect for other guests and leave it clean and tidy! We can also provide evening meals if you request them on booking.

Can I explore the farm and gardens?

Yes of course – we encourage you to get out and see the full 300 acres! Do bring your wellies!

Can I bring my dog/horse?

Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. They will have to sleep in the car as we have some guests allergic to animal hair. We don’t currently have facilities for horses, sorry.

Do you have a baby cot/highchair?

Yes we have a cot available (please bring your own bedding) and a high chair on request.

Why do you only take groups at your campsite?

Our campsite is a beautiful remote spot that you can book exclusively. It is situated on the top of a little hill overlooking the farm, and is accessible only with 4x4. We arrange for one trip up and one trip down with all your bags. Cars are left in the farmyard, a 10-minute walk away. This set up works best for larger groups, and we welcome family gatherings and parties, schools and youth groups.
