Today’s crises: An opportunity for human evolution

The current assumption is that the threats we face can best be met by weaponry and force. The current reality is that the real threats we face (terrorism, global warming, migration, rich-poor gap) do not and will never respond to superior force.  If humanity is to survive, therefore, we need to develop more intelligent methods of addressing the threats we now face. This will require a leap in consciousness:

Einstein said that “No problem can be solved from the consciousness that created it.” Scilla will discuss how humanity is making this required leap in consciousness and will present examples of how this evolved consciousness is being used to address real world challenges.

Scilla Elworthy is a peace builder, the founder of the Oxford Research Group, a non-governmental organisation set up to develop effective dialogue between nuclear weapons policy-makers worldwide and their critics, and of Peace Direct, set up to support locally-led conflict prevention initiatives in areas of crisis.

About Supper & Conversations at Trill

Supper & conversations provide an opportunity to enjoy an inspiring talk followed by a convivial supper, sharing ideas and evolving positive ways forward.

Speakers include writers, innovators, critics, political agitators and environmentalists, and aim to be informative, to stimulate thinking, to make us laugh and to amaze us.

The suppers are inspired by the content of the talk and from the seasonal abundance of the farm. We don't sell alcohol, please feel free to BYO.
